Terminology

Audience: Selection of contacts used in a journey

Audience list: Contact lists. All contacts available for campaigns are stored in an audience list

Segment: A sub-selection of contacts in the audience list

Dynamic segment: A Dynamic segment is a subset of contacts that will evolve in time as it is based on an SQL constraint

Static segment: A Static Segment is a subset representing a snapshot of contacts at a particular moment in time
